AON moves HQ to London and increases confidence in recruitment market

19-01-2012
The recent news that AON is to relocate its Head Office to London, to offices 100 meters from Insurance Recruitment Consultants High Finance Group, is seen as excellent news and could provide a job market boost in the future.

Recruitment Consultancy leader Jason Sykes said "That AON believe that London is, and will remain such a major hub for the insurance industry is very welcome news for the job market".

Aon has a market capitalisation of nearly $15 billion and specialises in Insurance Broking , advisory services and employee benefits. Last year, the group signed a deal to become the principal tenant of the new skyscraper "The Cheesegrater". The group currently employs about 6,000 people in the UK. Aon said it had no plans to dramatically increase its UK headcount and would maintain its listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The company said it also planned to increase the headcount in its current Chicago headquarters by 750 and create a further 1,000 jobs across the US this year.

Since the financial crisis, the insurance job market has stayed much stronger than other areas of Financial Services, with particular talent demand for Actuaries, Risk Managers and Underwriters. The news from AON is a boost to the London market, Olivier Vidal said "Hopefully the other big employers in the Insurance Industry will realise that London is an important hub for talented insurance professionals" .

High Finance Group is a fast growing recruitment consultancy working from London, serving the UK and European markets.
