Axa In Talks To Sell Life Assurance Business

Buyout specialist Resolution, owner of Friends Provident has confirmed it has put in an offer for the UK Life Assurance side of Axa. This is likely to have an affect upon employment within Axa as, if it does go ahead the business would be merged with Friends Provident.

The businesses that Resolution would acquire are Axa's UK risk areas of protectection and annuities operations and the group pensions business. The offer that they have made for these businesses is £2.75billion according to a statement made by Resolution.
