Solvency II
Adherence to Solvency II regulations will present a major challenge, and potential opportunity, to many of the insurers and professional service firms that High Finance Group works with. It is the aim of HFG to be the partner of choice in the Solvency II recruitment space and we are constantly keeping abreast of developments in the legislation and analysing how this will affect human capital management requirements within our clients. It is our firm view that the market will experience a skills shortage and candidates will need to be sourced from international markets, the banking Basel II space or alternatively significant retraining will be required in order to satisfy client requirements. High Finance Group believes it is at the "nerve centre" of Solvency II recruitment and our specialisation in Actuarial, Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit means we are plugged in to the key areas of the market which will be affected.
All of the professional areas into which High Finance Group recruits will be significantly changed by Solvency II . It is our aim to prepare for how Solvency II will affect recruitment and to supply knowledgeable professionals who can help our clients through this major industry challenge.
We are able to supply permanent candidates, independent consultants and policy advisors who are willing and able to work across Europe on Solvency II implementation.
To date High Finance Group have organised and attended a number of seminars on Solvency II and its practical implications:
Spring 2009 Solvency II Mini-Conference , Jason Sykes organised this independent conference attended by over 120 senior financial, risk and actuarial professionals from the London Insurance Market. The event attracted a broad mix of high profile names and the key speakers included Luke Savage (Head of Risk & Finance, Lloyd's of London), Mark Button (S&P), Tim Edwards (FSA) and Joachin Oeschlin (CRO, Munich Re). The event focussed on addressing the rise of risk-based capital allocation and its management and regulation challenges as well as dealing with business and operational strategy to establish and maintain a leadership position in the marketplace. In 2010 High Finance Group is planning to sponsor further events in the Solvency II space in order to keep fully up to speed with key regulation changes and analyse and interpret the effects this will have on the recruitment market across the Insurance sector.
Summer 2009 "Fostering Operational Risk Management in Insurance" - Organised by Association of British Insurers.
This one day conference was attended by consultants covering Audit, Risk and Compliance to gain further technical knowledge and canvass their contacts about how changes might affect their HR Planning.
Spring 2009 "Solvency II: An ERM perspective networking evening"- Organised by Institute of Actuaries.
This one day conference was attended by our senior actuarial and risk recruiters, to assess the impact of Solvency II.
